This author has a seventeen ye old bionic woman with the language of a delinquent 12 ye old boy....hardly a page goes bye without a reference to poo...yep...poo...poo sandwich...poo colored bedspread..what tastes worse poo covered candy or candy covered poo....this fecal theme is intertwined with the lesbian thoughts/desires of a minor...just wrong. Too bad the author is a fixated fecal freak that stagnated with the mentality of a twisted 13 yr old boy because the plot wasn't all that bad.

Pure Fun and an Occasional Ding-a-Ling

Meet Lorna. She's a sixteen-year-old badass who has spent her life knowing one thing with certainty. She's going to die.

Lorna has a heart condition that's slated to kill her. When she's given a chance at a heart transplant, she takes it - even knowing that it will likely fail. But not only is it successful, but it turns our sixteen-year-old badass into BADASS ON SPEED. And suddenly, someone wants her dead.

Truly Deadly is a fast paced, action packed, and violent book. Lorna is incredibly funny, bright, and likable. And our plot, odd though it is, is simply a blast to read. You can tell that the author had fun writing this and you'll find yourself having just as much fun reading it.

Now, I do warn you that the sexual situations read a little like a sixteen year old boy's fantasy - it's all bouncing breasts, taut buttocks, and rising ding-a-lings (Lorna's word for the male appendage) - and it's a little weird equating those situations with our heroine. However, given the plot and our heroine's unique condition, they actually make sense.

I also warn you that the book ends on a cliffhanger. But let me tell you, it's a humdinger of a cliffhanger. Suddenly, everything you thought you knew does a 180 and you'll find yourself anxious to read the next book to find out exactly what's going on here.

Pure fun from the first page to the last.

A great solid start to a new series. Although there are times where the heroine seems a bit too mature and composed for her age, and some of the plot twists are a bit contrived, it's certainly no worse than most of the Bond films and more than made up for with some solidly written action scenes and a nicely intriguing premise. One note to the author/Amazon, though: there's a sequence of several paragraphs that's in the wrong order in the kindle version I read. Without giving too much away, it occurs towards the end of the fight in the changing room and left me going "what... huh?" until I figured out that part of the fight scene had inexplicably been placed after the actual end of the struggle.

About the Author

Randy Knight taught introductory physics for 32 years at Ohio State University and California Polytechnic University, where he is Professor Emeritus of Physics. Professor Knight received a Ph.D. in physics from the University of California, Berkeley and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics before joining the faculty at Ohio State University. It was at Ohio State that he began to learn about the research in physics education that, many years later, led to Five Easy Lessons: Strategies for Successful Physics Teaching and this book, as well as College Physics: A Strategic Approach, co-authored with Brian Jones and Stuart Field. Professor Knight’s research interests are in the field of laser spectroscopy and environmental science. When he’s not in front of a computer, you can find Randy hiking, sea kayaking, playing the piano, or spending time with his wife Sally and their six cats.

Wrong answers in the back, so disappointing

This book is good in the fact that it simplifies the challenging concepts of physics and has diagrams that make it easier to learn the material. As a student trying to learn physics, I did the practice problems at the end of the chapter. The answers to odd questions are at the back of the book, but this book had the WRONG answers in the back of the book. TOO many times to count, the wrong answer was found in the back of the book, and this is bad for students who are already confused about physics. For instance, it would ask to find the distance in meters, but the answer gave a random velocity.

Awsome book for scientists and engineers!

First off let me start with saying that I am going to compare this to a Serway's style of books. Both are good but just different in their approach. The strengths of Knight's book is that it approaches physics in a conceptual approach with heavy analysis of problem and then focuses on problem solving strategies. I like understanding the concept before just bashing away at problem solving. Knight's book gives you just enough details to understand the problem as a physicist with out flooding you with too many details. In short this book teaches you how to be a scientist. It has a very smooth transition to new and more complex subject that are related to the previous ideas presented. I learned from Serway's book in college for my calculus base physics and I found that one to be mechanistic and heavy handed on problems and very equation heavy with out demonstrating the concept a good as in Knight's book. Serway's is a good encyclopedic reference but I think that Knight's shows the art of thinking like a scientist.

Tasty recipes so far but...

I've tried a few recipes and they were tasty.

The different serving size for each type of surgery and post op progress is very detailed with nutritional information.

The difficulty I have is the names of the recipes. Have to read in detail each recipe to figure out what it is. Many of the ingredients are hard to find unfortunately. But I'm in a medium sized Canadian city.

You must purchase a very wide variety of ingredients as each recipe does not have much ingredient overlap.

The instructions are very detailed. There is a lot of recipes.

I will be experimenting with completely new ingredients as the recipes seem "fancy". I am glad I bought a few cookbooks at the same time as this is not my go-to cookbook for everyday cooking for my children and hubby. I prefer a different "fresh start" for my go-to cookbook for my post surgical life style change.

Yummy little cookbook!

I lost about 70lbs in about 6mo or so and since then have hit a large plateau. I did so with keto, over exercising and many other unhealthy habits. Trying them now after a tolerance has given me a roadblock. I got this and am proud to say I've broken my plateau! With this and a few other cookbooks, I've used the meals, portion control, cutting down on salt, sugars and sodas, upping water intake and exercising like I get paid to do it (which I already do working at Amazon) I'm on my way to being as healthy as I look. I really recommend giving this a read if you're looking for simple, yummy meals to help give you energy and make you feel satisfied on your journey without the nagging cravings and grumbly tummies.

a good one for any healthy eater

This book has a lot of really good ideas for trying to wrap your mind about a new cooking style. I had VSG and wouldn't have thought of a lot of these dishes as options, but the ingredients are healthy and they sound delicious! There have been comments about this not covering VSG options, but I think it was probably written before VSG was a popular option for surgery, and really, there is not a difference in the food prep from other surgeries. Once you're past the first few weeks of special diets it doesn't matter anyway.

I'd recommend this cookbook because it has a lot of interesting recipes (lots of seafood!) and easy to follow directions.
