Wrapped around a subtle lesson in com puter programming, this interactive plot moves the reader, spread by spread, to ward the treasure of Oraz; one wrong choice and the hunt for gold becomes a wild goose chase. The story is slight, and some readers may look for the next set of directions instead of tracing the path through the pictures, but the comic book style and winding trails across jun gle terrain will most likely draw readers in. Unlike other choose-your-own sto ries, this book has but one way out, and children might have to consult earlier pages several times to find the solution. They'll have to remember each correct choice as they hunt, but that challenge is part of this book's appeal.
